This week we’ll be focusing on one of our Senior Account Managers, Marilyn Kennedy, and providing a little insight into their everyday at Here’s The Plan.
What is an average day in your role?
As a Senior Account Manager, my main role is to arrange new energy contracts for our clients at the optimum time to ensure clients are receiving the most competitive contract available on the market at the time.
I also spend quite a large amount of my day overseeing the invoice validation service we provide to clients. On average we receive around 300 invoices per month for validating, whether it’s for our large use and multi -site clients or for clients with a stand alone meter. The invoice validation’s purpose is to ensure clients are being charged correctly for their energy both in terms of consumption and cost. Should any discrepancies arise from the validation process, we take ownership of these issues and manage them through to a satisfactory resolution keeping our clients informed at every stage.
Not only does Marilyn have over 20 years’ experience in the energy industry, she is the Treasurer of Thorn Athletic Football Club, a local Junior football team from her hometown of Johnstone and who have just finished 5th which is an excellent achievement as season 2022/23 is their first season in this higher league.
Tell us a surprising or a fun fact about you.
I once met King Charles when he was just a lowly Prince when himself and Princess Diana visited Johnstone train station back in the 80’s… I still have the photograph!
Do you have any pets?
Sadly no, but when growing up we had an Irish Red Setter called Leo who was as daft as a brush and an Old English Sheepdog called Freddie who was literally a living teddy bear.
