This week we'll be focusing on one of our Account Managers, Alan Roxburgh, and providing a little insight into their everyday at Here's The Plan.

What is an average day in your role?

Each day as an Account Manager can often vary. My first starting point each day, is to research and analyse daily energy market price movements. This gives me all the up to date and accurate information, to allow me to discuss and report market trends to clients – which gives them the information they need to make informed buying decisions when procuring energy for their Business. Throughout the day my workload can change but consists of efficiently answering customer queries and concerns, communicating and negotiating with energy suppliers and attending the occasional site visit client meeting.

How do you achieve success in your role?

To achieve success in my role, I try to prioritise my workload and manage my time effectively. I also aim to build, develop and maintain strong relationships with clients and our partners. I’ve got a keen eagerness to learn and develop too, which keeps me up to date with all the latest market influencing factors.

What’s the best advice you’ve been given?

Try to live in the present. It’s important to look back and into the future but make sure to appreciate the present moment. Life is happening now, so make the most of it!
