January Staff Spotlight - Christian Williams

This month, we are thrilled to highlight a colleague whose dedication, passion, and hard work have not only elevated their own performance but have also inspired those around them. Join us in applauding Christian Williams, our Staff Spotlight honoree for January 2024. Let's delve into the story of their journey, accomplishments, and the positive influence they bring to our HTP Team.

➢ How long have you been in the energy industry and what’s one piece of advice you would give to someone new to our industry?

From a background in making cocktails to energy I’ve been with Here’s The Plan for five years and that’s when I entered the energy industry. I think the best advice I would give is don’t worry if you feel overwhelmed, it’s an overwhelming industry but thankfully we have a great team with experts in all fields to learn from and guide you.

➢ Do/did you have a mentor, if so tell us about them.

I have a lot of mentors but I think a notable shoutout is required to Annette Welch our Business Development Director. Annette hired me, taught me about Business Development and has given me every opportunity to grow and learn. I really appreciate all she’s done and continues to do for me!

➢ What is the best advice you’ve ever received?

This too shall pass, works in almost every scenario and it was a great way to get through last years energy crisis!

➢ What’s one activity you complete on behalf of clients that would surprise people of its difficulty?

I’d say anything water related in general. We have clients all over the UK many with sites in both Scotland and elsewhere in the UK. This means group contracts across multiple wholesalers for a start. Not to mention site work, invoice validation with meters older than I am. Yeah, water is definitely far more complex than most would probably expect but that’s why we are able to add so much value to our clients with water.

➢ During your time at Here’s The Plan, what achievements are you particularly proud of?

Graduating whilst studying is easiest top of the list but I’d also say just the overall growth and playing a part in that over the last five years. The teams grown massively in my time here and it’s great to reflect on all the hard work which has taken us here.

Tell us about your portfolio, what industries do you work with, what type of supplies do you manage?

I don’t actually have a portfolio and more just jump in and out of the Account Managers to help where and when I’m needed, I’d like to think they find this a great help (as long as I don’t touch the admin)
