➢ How long have you been in the energy industry and what’s one piece of advice you would give to someone new to our industry?

My original background was in Hospitality working at one of Scotland’s leading Hotels which supplied me with transferable skills which have been invaluable in the Energy industry. I have now been working at Here’s the Plan for two years and have been given the opportunity to work in many different aspect of the industry. My advice is to learn as much as you can about the industry and any chance you get with industry experts make sure to ask lots of questions! This will help you provide your clients with the best service while also developing your own knowledge.

➢ Do/did you have a mentor, if so tell us about them.

When I worked in the hotel industry I was lucky to have some of the most experienced in the industry mentor me, they will know who they are! This helped develop my skills and confidence from a young age. Fast forward to working at Here’s The Plan and I have had great mentorship from all of my Directors, as it’s a flat structured company it is very much an open door policy so I have made sure to take advantage of that when needing guidance.

➢ What is the best advice you’ve ever received?

To be comfortable with being uncomfortable, making sure you put yourself into uncomfortable scenarios to continue personal and professional growth.

➢ What’s one activity you complete on behalf of clients that would surprise people of its difficulty?

Here’s The Plan puts an emphasis on finding ways to reduce costs for our customers. One service I provide to customers is Merchant Services both in person and online. Often this cost is overlooked by businesses but there are some really competitive rates available which can significantly reduce the cost of sale. Overall this is just another added value service I manage at Here’s The Plan.

➢ During your time at Here’s The Plan, what achievements are you particularly proud of?

In my two years at Here’s the Plan I have had several proud moments, graduating from university with a first class honours degree, winning Apprentice of the year at the courier business awards and being promoted into Business Development Manager.

➢ Tell us about your portfolio, what industries do you work with, what type of supplies do you manage?

I have the luxury of managing many different industries which has been hugely beneficial to my progression. The knowledge I have gained in so many different industries has helped me massively since joining the industry and especially with problem solving.
