Lloyd Motor Group - Multi-Site Utility Management

The Client: Lloyd Motor Group are a family-owned business and one of the leading independent automotive retailers in the UK, with 18 sites across the country. Lloyd Motor Group have used Here's The Plan's services since 2006, and as a large business with multiple sites, managing utilities can be a complex and daunting task for the Purchasing Manager. For this reason, they work with Here's The Plan to take the stress and hassle of managing utilities away.

The Challenge: With multiple sites, managing contract end dates can be challenging and time-consuming with individual contracts renewing at different times throughout the year. This in turn makes collating data a constant challenge to ensure contracts are up-to-date and renewals are not missed. Additionally, Lloyd Motor Group have a mixture of half hourly and non-half hourly electricity supplies, and gas at all 18 sites, so different processes are required each time.

With Lloyd Motor Group being a growing business, they frequently acquire new sites which also need to be managed. When onboarding a new site, Here's The Plan must complete a substantial amount of paperwork to ensure the Change of Occupier is processed correctly for the client, allowing new contracts to be set up in their name. Furthermore, some of Lloyd Motor Group's supplies have had metering issues, derived from insufficient supply capacity being available for their operations.

The Solution: To overcome these challenges, Here's The Plan have implemented a multi-tiered solution:

  • We have worked to co-align end dates for all supplies to aid the decision-making process and reduce paperwork for Lloyd Motor Group, as decisions can be made in a single week for each renewal, rather than continuously throughout the year
  • We have collated all information for each supply into a single document so that it is easily accessible whenever the client needs
  • We ensure that all new contracts are processed correctly and go live as expected with the agreed rates to ensure the client is not overcharged for their usage
  • We have arranged MOP and DA/DC contracts for Lloyd Motor Group where required alongside their utility contracts
  • Here's The Plan are able to assist with any metering issues of upgrades that are required, such as import or export meters for self-generation projects, capacity monitoring and increases, and billing disputes
