This week, we’re spotlighting our Sustainability and Compliance Analyst, Billy Robertson! From solar projects to energy compliance, his work helps businesses cut costs and carbon footprints. We asked him about his role, what he loves most, and a fun fact you wouldn’t expect!
What is an average day in your role?
No two days are ever the same. One morning, I could be working on a solar PV installation project, helping a client reduce their energy costs and carbon footprint, and by the afternoon, I’m arranging export meters for a clients. It’s fast-paced, varied, and keeps me on my toes, but that’s what keeps it interesting.
What do you love most about what you do?
I love working closely with clients to create measurable impact. Knowing that my work directly helps a business improve whilst making a positive impact to the planet is very rewarding. Plus, I’ve enjoyed learning about this industry in general and seeing first-hand how sustainable practices can actually make a difference.
Tell us a surprising or fun fact about you.
In high school, I ran a cross-country race with one shoe after the other got stuck in the mud early on. I decided the best thing to do was keep going (can’t say I’m no committed) Sadly, even with my bold one-shoe strategy, I still didn’t qualify for the next race.
