How long have you been in the energy industry?
I have been in the Energy industry for 2 years as this is my first industry accounting role after many years in various practice accounting roles.
What is the best advice you’ve ever received?
You miss 100% of the shots you don’t take.
What’s one activity you complete on behalf of the company that would surprise people of its difficulty and complexity?
The most difficult and complex part of the job is budgeting for future plans and analysing the effects of various plans on the company’s future cash flow position.
Tell us about the biggest surprise moving into an industry role?
The biggest surprise was how much more strategy work is involved in an industry role when you change the focus from several clients to a single entity. I was also surprised how much my experience in practice helped me with this strategy through discussions with previous clients.
