Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) is the UK’s packaging producer responsibility regime. It requires obligated businesses to collect and report packaging data, and contribute towards the costs of managing packaging waste.

What are Packaging Recovery Notes (PRNs)?
Packaging Recovery Notes (PRNs) are evidence notes that confirm packaging waste has been successfully recovered and recycled in the UK. If you’re an obligated producer, you need enough PRNs, and their export equivalent, Packaging Export Recovery Notes (PERNs), to meet your annual recycling obligations.
PRN prices can shift significantly throughout the year, which makes budgeting a challenge. Add in the admin of sourcing and managing them, and it’s easy to see why businesses struggle to keep on top of it.
