Douglas Reid

Douglas Reid

Douglas Reid is the Chairman at Here’s The Plan Ltd, responsible for driving the company’s strategy, operations, and growth. He translates the board’s vision into practical, profitable outcomes while overseeing business development, finances, and team performance.

Douglas holds a degree in Business Management from Robert Gordon’s University and is an ICAS Chartered Accountant, having trained with Deloitte and PwC. He began his career specialising in insurance and reinsurance before working with Edrington and later joining entrepreneur Iain Hogg as Finance Director. After several years growing that business, he launched his own company, which evolved into a UK-wide business energy consultancy.

In 2022, Douglas led the successful merger with Roddy Dalziel from European Utility Consultants, forming Here’s The Plan Ltd. He has built a skilled team capable of managing daily operations, allowing him to focus on strategic growth while continuing to enjoy serving customers, reducing operating costs, and supporting the transition to Net Zero in a sustainable and ethical way.

Roddy Dalziel

Roddy Dalziel has been working in the energy industry since 1996 and currently serves as Client Experience Director. With deep expertise in industry charging structures, energy wholesale charges, compliance, and sustainability, Roddy has a unique ability to understand how these factors interact and impact clients.

Motivated by the deregulation of the utilities sector in the mid-1990s, Roddy has built a career helping commercial clients navigate a complex and evolving marketplace. He enjoys diving into challenging problems, developing solutions, and creating templates that make complex questions quick and easy to answer.

Among his notable achievements, Roddy established his company’s flex buying service, which applies established risk management techniques to manage high-value energy contracts. Colleagues describe him as highly detail-focused, guided by the principle: “Focus on the work, and the rewards will take care of themselves.” Roddy’s approach to challenges is summed up in his personal motto: “No great victory without a struggle.”

Annette Welch

Annette Welch brings over 12 years of experience with Here’s the Plan, where she leads on business growth strategy and client communication. A graduate of Dundee University, Annette’s professional background spans key account and project management roles in both the pharmaceutical sector and a major energy supplier.

Passionate about developing people as well as businesses, Annette has a particular interest in coaching the team to deliver outstanding customer service. She thrives on solving complex problems and ensures that sustainability is always balanced with strong economic return on investment.

With her broad expertise across business and energy, Annette is well positioned to drive Here’s the Plan’s ambitious growth agenda.

Outside of work, Annette is a keen cyclist and creative fabric upcycler — when she’s not on her bike, she’s often giving old jeans a new life as a handbag.

Jonathan Henderson

Jon is our non-execituive director working with the board on shaping the future plans of the business. He started in the energy business in 1985 after graduating in Econimics from the University of Leicester. During his time in the industry he has worked for national and international energy consultancies and spent some time in Australia setting up an energy consultancy practice in Sydney. He more recently built his own award winning energy consultancy, which he sold in 2018.

Jon also works within the business as a mentor and a trainer delivering our Training Academy.

Jon is a qualified psychotherapist and runs a joint-practice with his wife in Montrose, Angus.

Lynn Ritchie

Lynn Ritchie is the Director of 1st for Energy Ltd at Here’s the Plan Ltd heading up the Compliance Department.

As Director of Compliance, Lynn oversees a wide range of regulatory services, including Display Energy Certificates, Energy Performance Certificates, Air Conditioning Inspection Certificates, Packaging Regulations, and ESOS compliance. She is committed to ensuring that both existing and new clients not only meet current legislation but are also well-prepared for upcoming regulatory changes.

Lynn Ritchie brings over 27 years of experience in the UK, European, and Asian energy markets. Throughout her career, she has successfully established and led teams across multiple regions, implementing tendering processes for energy contracts and developing robust invoice validation systems. In recent years, Lynn has focused her expertise on compliance. Following the acquisition of 1st for Energy, she played a key role in integrating the company into Here’s the Plan, expanding its service offerings and strengthening its compliance framework.

When not working Lynn enjoys looking after her young Grandson and holidays in the sun!

Christian Williams

Christian Williams is the Co-Managing Director of Here’s The Plan Ltd, where he helps set the company’s vision and strategy for growth while championing innovative sustainability solutions. In his role, Christian works closely with partners and suppliers to ensure the business delivers meaningful impact — supporting organisations on their journey to net-zero while reinforcing Here’s The Plan’s position as a sector leader.

A graduate of Dundee University, Christian has spent a number of years with the company, gaining experience across several departments as he progressed through the organisation. Alongside fellow MD Sam, he co-founded the company’s Sustainability Department and has since been recognised within the industry with multiple award nominations. His career is driven by a passion for creating lasting change, whether that’s helping businesses reduce their carbon footprint or developing strategies that deliver long-term benefits for both clients and the environment.

Outside of work, Christian is an Associate Director at St. Johnstone FC and can often be found at McDiarmid Park supporting his beloved Saints. If he’s not talking about energy and sustainability, chances are he’s talking football.

Sam Grace

Sam Grace is the Co-Managing Director of Here’s The Plan Ltd, where he leads the company’s operational strategy with a focus on sustainability, compliance, and efficiency across utility management. Sam works closely with the team and clients to ensure Here’s The Plan delivers on its brand promise of trust, peace of mind, and no surprises in every client interaction.

Sam originally joined the company in 2019 as an Account Manager and went on to work in both Sustainability and Compliance before moving into Head of Operations. Alongside fellow MD Christian, he co-founded the company’s Sustainability Department, helping to embed long-term environmental strategies at the heart of the business. Holding degrees in both Business Management and Mechanical Engineering from Dundee University, Sam combines technical expertise with commercial acumen to guide the company’s growth and operational excellence. It is with this vast experience Sam now guides Here’s The Plan forward.

Outside of work, Sam enjoys travelling and has set himself the personal challenge of visiting as many football stadiums around the world as possible.

Chris Stewart

Chris Stewart is the Head of Finance at Here’s The Plan Ltd, where deals with all the financial aspects of the business. He works closely with the directors to shape business strategy and future developments with a strong financial aspect.

With over 20 years’ experience in accountancy and financial management, Chris brings a proven track record of strengthening financial controls to drive sustainable business growth. After qualifying as a Chartered Accountant with ICAS at just 24, Chris built a career supporting SMEs across a wide range of industries, specialising in audit, team leadership, and staff development.

Since joining Here’s the Plan in 2023, Chris has applied this expertise to enhance financial systems, embed robust controls, and streamline processes, ensuring that sound financial management underpins strategic decision-making and accelerates performance. Chris is committed to creating a financial environment where growth is not only achievable but scalable and resilient.

Outside of Here’s The Plan you will find Chris at McDiarmid Park watching his beloved St. Johnstone play or spending time with his family.

Gary Duncan-Fairbairn

Gary Duncan-Fairbairn is an accomplished Head of Bureau Services & Data Manager at Here’s the Plan Ltd, where he has successfully created and led the company’s Bureau service offering. With over 20 years of project management experience and a decade of industry-specific expertise, Gary is responsible for ensuring the company’s systems operate efficiently to meet client service delivery goals.

Throughout his career, Gary has been instrumental in developing innovative solutions that directly enhance client experience. Notably, he is pioneering a mechanism allowing clients to easily monitor their consumption portfolios, enabling greater transparency and control. His expertise spans a range of service offerings, including tenant recharge, invoice validation, water management, and bespoke query problem management. His focus on optimizing operational processes and delivering results has consistently driven high client satisfaction.

Gary is a passionate problem solver with a particular interest in tackling complex, challenging issues. His analytical mindset and ability to break down complicated problems have made him a trusted leader in his field.

Outside of work, Gary values quality family time above all else. He provides his daughter with as many enriching experiences as possible, often traveling across the country to ensure she has a wide range of opportunities to learn and grow.

Tanya Hay

As Head of People & HR, Tanya is passionate about creating a people-first culture where everyone feels valued, supported, and able to do their best work. She has been with Here’s The Plan Ltd since 2022 and worked closely with our leadership team to keep our people strategy true to our values, making sure HR runs smoothly and our teams feel empowered and connected.

Tanya brings extensive HR experience in building resilient workplace cultures, strengthening communication, and promoting positive teamwork. During her time in HR, she has worked to implement best ways of working, ensure compliance with ISO standards and create clear policies and procedures that support both people and performance. She takes a hands-on approach, bringing together big-picture strategy and day-to-day action, to support our Team and help the business thrive.

Tanya is known for being approachable, always willing to help, and committed to putting the best interests of the business first. She values open communication, trust and creating a workplace where employees like coming to work.

When Tanya is not working you can find her either on her bicycle, sea kayak or, spending time on travel adventures with friends.

Christina Carlon

Christina is our Head of Utilities Account Management and overseas the running of the Account Management department while managing some of our larger multi-site clients.

Christina helps support the team to deliver on our brand promise. She has gained in-depth knowledge of the industry over the years. She plays a big role in the systems we use and creating processes to help systematise all things Account Management. Christina always has her clients’ best interests in mind in everything she does.  

Christina has taken up running and completed her first half marathon this year. She also enjoys playing badminton and walking her dogs.

Alistair Coar

With over 15 years of experience in the energy industry, Alistair brings deep expertise in energy procurement and strategic account management. As an Energy Key Account Executive, he specialises in helping clients navigate the complex wholesale energy markets to secure the most suitable contract structure and competitive pricing.

A graduate of Napier University, before transitioning into the energy sector, Alistair worked as a Financial Adviser, a background that provided a strong foundation in client relations and market analysis. This financial insight, combined with a genuine interest in wholesale energy trends, led to a successful career supporting businesses in managing their energy portfolios.

A recipient of the Sales Professional of the Year at the Telca Awards 2017, Alistair is recognised for a client-first approach, attention to detail, and ability to deliver tailored energy solutions that align with business goals. Whether negotiating contracts or managing long-term accounts he is committed to building trust and delivering value.

Colleagues would describe Alistair as highly collaborative, solution-oriented, and driven by integrity—values that guide every client interaction.

Outside of work, he enjoys sailing and exploring the coast, bringing the same focus and passion from the office to the open water.

Ruth Curran

Ruth Curran is a Senior Account Manager at Here’s The Plan where she manages a diverse client portfolio and provides support to her individual team. With extensive experience in client relationship management, she specialises in developing strong communication and delivering tailored energy solutions that meet the needs of businesses of all sizes.

Alongside her client and teamwork, she also leads internal training as the company’s Training Manager, where she designed and launched the business’s first-ever structured training system. This initiative has set a new benchmark for employee development, helping her team grow in both confidence and knowledge.

Ruth takes great pride in seeing individuals progress, gain confidence, and celebrate their achievements, believing that empowering people is key to both personal and company success.

Marilyn Kennedy

Marilyn is one of our Senior Account Manager’s in our Account Management team where she is responsible for managing a large and varied client portfolio. As a senior level professional, she is responsible for delivering tailored energy solutions for each of her clients.  By building solid client relationships and understanding each client’s business models and energy needs she supports both her client and company’s goals.

Having worked in the industry for over 25 years, Marilyn has a broad and practical understanding of the industry’s technical, operational, and regulatory dimensions. Marilyn thrives on delivering high levels of customer satisfaction by combining her technical knowledge, her problem-solving skills and her client relationship management to provide a customer first approach.

Away from work, the majority of Marilyn’s spare time is spent as an active volunteer for her local football team, contributing to the development of grassroots sport within the community. Not only is she the treasurer, but is head of match day operations helping to create a fun, save and inclusive environment for players and supporters.  

Rowan Charity

Rowan joined Here’s The Plan in 2022 and manages SME clients through our Lite service, providing simple, streamlined energy procurement and management. She also leads our marketing, from creating clear, jargon-free content to managing our website.

With diplomas in Digital Marketing, IT & Telecoms, and a qualification in Environmental Sustainability, Rowan combines creativity with a detail-focused approach to solving problems. With a passion for helping people, Rowan has helped clients navigate the challenges of the energy market crisis, continues to provide dedicated support across our Lite service, and leads the way in keeping our communications clear and engaging.

Outside of work, Rowan enjoys travelling, live music, and the Scottish outdoors. She even abseiled the Forth Bridge for charity in 2024 with some HTP colleagues!

Lucia Paul Martinez

Lucia Paul Martinez is an Account Manager at Here’s The Plan, where for the past three years they have brought excellent customer service and meticulous attention to detail to every project. Alongside their client work, Lu has developed a strong interest in sustainability and ESG, and is now training to step into the role of Sustainability Manager.

A Business Management graduate from Abertay University, Lu has also completed a range of sustainability and ESG courses, deepening their knowledge and passion for combining commercial insight with environmental responsibility. They are committed to helping clients achieve their goals while contributing to a more sustainable future.

Outside of work, you’ll most often find Lu at the gym or out in the hills with their dog. A qualified personal trainer, Lu also coaches others to reach their fitness goals, bringing the same positive energy and dedication to training as to their professional career in energy.

Alan Roxburgh

Alan Roxburgh is an Energy Account Manager with nearly three years of experience in the wholesale energy markets. Building on a background in retail management, he brings a unique perspective to client relationships – blending commercial acumen with a strong understanding of energy industry dynamics.

Driven by a commitment to supporting the net zero transition, Alan specialises in helping clients navigate the complexities of the energy market. Known for being team-oriented and client-focused, he prioritises trust, peace of mind, and no surprises in every interaction.

What Alan enjoys most about his role is the diversity of clients they work with, tailoring solutions to meet individual needs while building long-term, reliable partnerships.

Outside of work, Alan is passionate about football and enjoys spending time following the sport.

Gordon Barlow

Gordon Barlow is an Account Manager and Senior Data Specialist at Here’s The Plan Ltd, where he supports clients with energy procurement, contract management, and market insights, while also driving internal systems development. His role combines client-facing support with behind-the-scenes innovation, ensuring businesses receive transparent advice while the company continues to evolve through technology.

Alongside his role, Gordon is completing a degree in IT Management for Business at Dundee University, strengthening the link between data, technology, and consultancy services.

Outside of work, Gordon enjoys repairing computers, exploring new whiskies, and bouldering — a fitting match for his problem-solving mindset.

Abby Pountney

Abby joined Here’s The Plan in August 2025 as an Energy Compliance Analyst, helping clients navigate compliance and evolving regulations. She is excited to apply her skills in a future-focused role and contribute to a meaningful sector.

Before moving into the energy sector, Abby gained qualifications in Business studies from the University of Abertay Dundee and went on to spend over 11 years in financial services, most recently specialising in Compliance. She brings a detail-focused and collaborative approach to her work and has a strong background in navigating fast-paced regulatory environments .

When not at work, you will find Abby lost in a good book or out exploring on walks with her little Jack Russell.

Ben Frame

Ben Frame is the Data Analyst at Here’s The Plan, where he plays a key role in the Bureau Services department ensuring the accuracy and fairness of clients’ energy bills. His primary responsibility involves validating invoices to ensure that clients are billed correctly for their energy usage and in accordance with their contract. Ben also manages the database of invoicing and consumption data used to validate invoices. Additionally, he also produces monthly accruals for clients to budget for upcoming bills and recharges to fairly and accurately divide energy costs among multiple tenants under one energy contract.

Ben has a background in software development and has been working at Here’s The Plan since March 2023. He has since used his skills to help launch and grow the Bureau Services department within the company. He’s also one of the go-to people for troubleshooting IT issues across the company.

Outside of work, Ben is a keen cyclist, enjoys bouldering and is a passionate music enthusiast.

Michaela Charles

With a dual role as Senior Business Administrator and Finance Assistant, Michaela plays a key part in keeping our operations running smoothly. Bringing a strong background in administration and finance, Michaela supports both the day-to-day efficiency of the business and the accuracy of our financial processes – She is always ready to provide support while helping to drive our team forward.

Holding an HNC in Administration and IT, Michaela is also currently studying for an AAT Diploma to further develop her expertise in finance. This commitment to continuous learning reflects her dedication to both personal growth and the success of the company.

When not at work, Michaela can usually be found with a good book in hand or spending time with family, which she considers her greatest source of inspiration and joy. 

Gemma Yeats

Gemma Yeats is part of the Business Administrator support team at Here’s The Plan Ltd, where she helps support the whole team in the delivery of outstanding customer service and satisfaction and ensuring that the company is providing all possible services to each of their customers.

Gemma’s background of 30 plus years working in the accountancy and business advisory sector means she brings valuable experience working with customers and external partners to her role at Here’s The Plan Ltd.

Outside of work Gemma enjoys travelling and is always looking for interesting places to visit.

Jo Hartley

After 14 years at Aviva mastering the art of customer service and sales (and perfecting her phone voice), Jo transitioned into managerial roles within the dental industry. Eventually, she decided it was time for a career change that allowed her to combine her organisational skills, people experience, and love of lists. That’s when she found Here’s The Plan Ltd.

Since November 2024, Jo has been working as a Business Administrator, supporting the whole team with all things admin. If it needs doing, organising, filing, chasing or formatting – She’s on it (and usually with colour-coded tabs).

Jo holds a degree in Social Sciences, which helps her understand people and situations. Outside of work, you will find her at the gym, trying out new restaurants with friends, or at home with her two furry housemates: Wolf the cat (who thinks she runs the place) and Peanut the Robo hamster (small in size, big in personality) and she can’t forget her feathered, adopted member of family – Big Bird the Seagull!
